Cardiff is a city steeped in 19th century tradition and grandeur. The embodiment of that is found in the city's unique shopping arcades, which are as culturally architecturally and historically relevant today as they were when first built.
Cardiff contains more shopping galleries than any other city in the whole of the United Kingdom, surviving today as a nod to the industrial success of the past.
On this two hour tour we will explore the seven iconic shopping galleries of the city centre, and Cardiff Market, as well as some of the long lost arcades of the past.

All 'free' tours operate on a 'pay as you feel' basis after the tour. It is up to the attendee to determine what they think is an appropriate figure. Cash, card and other digital methods are readily accepted.
Arcades Tour Starting Point
The Cardiff City of Arcades Free Walking Tour takes place on selected dates year round. The nest addition of the tour will hopefully be during summertime, but the time and date are still to be confirmed.
The Arcades tour took place regularly across summer & autumn 2023 and will return in 2024, likely to be throughout the summer.

The City of Arcades tour takes place entirely within the confines of Cardiff city centre, therefore the tour is entirely flat and easily accessible to people, and animnals, of all ages and abilities.

Tour End Point
The City of Arcades tour ends on High Street in central Cardiff, between High St & Castle Arcades, opposite the entrance to Cardiff Castle.
